No Possessions, No Dice

I must admit, Imagine is a catchy tune. I can say that I enjoy the music, but not the song itself, because of what it stands for. This is because of its partially detestable lyrics:

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

We don't have to imagine anything John.

Edit: Stuart Hayashi sent me the link to the video above, so I thought it was appropriate enough to post here.

  • This should be the whiterpeople natio... err I mean International anthem. (Not that they live by it especially concerning possessions)

Too bad for John Lenin that Mark David Chapman thought there were things worth killing for. So it goes.
